Practices to nourish the soul

Honey & Soul is more than a name - it’s the rhythm of my life. It’s the practices that root me in joy and help me connect more deeply with God and people: yoga, creating home spaces, and hiking. These practices nourish my soul, and I love sharing them with others.

I never set out to become a yoga teacher, a home healer, or a hike guide. But each time, a gentle nudge led me into something I couldn’t ignore. What I’ve discovered is that when I say yes, God takes ordinary spaces - like a garage turned studio, a cozy living room, or a trail in the wilderness - and transforms them into places of healing, rest, and joy.

Honey & Soul is an invitation. An invitation to slow down, to breathe, to find beauty in the simple, and to create rhythms that bring life back to your soul.

Hey, I’m Brooke.

YOGA INSTRUCTOR | DECORATOR | HIKE JUNKIE

I started teaching yoga in 2012 in a home studio my husband built in our garage. Over a decade later, I’m still in awe of how a practice I resisted for so long has become such a gift. Watching weary, distracted souls walk in one way and leave nourished and aligned never gets old.

Over time, I noticed the same thing happening in my home. Friends and students would gather, and they loved the warmth and safety of my not-so-fancy space. I realized I could help others create homes that reflect their soul, too—and I absolutely love watching people come into alignment with their space.

Then came hiking. After a life-changing trip to Yosemite in 2015, I discovered the deep settling that happens in my soul when I’m away from the noise of crowds and buildings. I wanted others to experience that too, so Honey & Soul hikes were born - adventures that weave together hiking, yoga, and meditation into something both grounding and life-giving.

I never intended to do any of this but I’ve learned that the best things in my life have started that way. Honey & Soul is my way of sharing those gifts with you.

A few things you should know about me…

A woman practicing yoga in a studio with a sign that reads 'Honey & Soul Yoga' on the wall. She is sitting cross-legged on a striped rug, smiling while reading a book, with potted plants on either side.

I’m married to my high school sweetheart

Dave and I started dating when we were 15/16 years old. He’s the best person on the planet. We have 3 daughters who I think are the most beautiful & amazing things ever. Being a mom was my biggest dream. They are my heart outside my body.

A woman with long hair, glasses, and a headband is smiling and looking at a pink laptop while holding a mug in her hand, sitting at a dining table near a glass door.

I love coffee

Like probably more than I should. I want to travel the world, drinking coffee and reading books. Give me all the books written by Christian mystics like Henri Nouwen, Julian of Norwich, Andi Kolber, Gregory Boyle, Sarah Bessey, Richard Rohr, and many more…

I’m a homebody AND…

an enneagram 7. I love big adventure & fun AND I love being in bed by 9pm. This enneagram type is probably why I won the same character award every year in elementary school…”Joy.”

A white pitcher filled with yellow flowers, a small potted succulent, and a white textured planter with a green plant, placed on a round tray on a white wooden surface. A hand is holding a small signboard that reads "WELCOME TO THE GARDEN".

My most important ritual…

my Monday morning sabbath time. I never make plans with anyone except myself & God. It’s my time to pray, meditate, journal. And then I go out and by myself fresh flowers to remind myself to slow down and savor the beauty around me throughout the week.
